Shinzhen Young, PhD

{mosimage}Shinzhen Young, PhD is an American born meditation teacher who was ordained as a Buddhist monk at Mt. Koya, Japan. After several years of training in various Asian monasteries he became interested in the scientific study of meditative states and worked at the Princeton Biofeedback Institute. He is the co-founder, with Shirley Fenton, of the Vipassana Support Institute, which trains meditation facilitators to create a network to support meditation practice. His teachings emphasize the benefits of meditation in daily life. He has written articles and produced audio recordings on Vipassana meditation.
