Doc at Crossroads Talks of “Halo Effect” from Using Guided Imagery

16 Nov

We found this wonderful reaction to guided imagery in general and Martha Howard’s guided meditation for Keys To Your Highest Potential in particular, posted as a review comment on our site:

This is an extremely valuable item--worth every penny spent and every minute spent. I was deterred at first, since it was only 25 minutes--I felt that it would not have as much value as others on this site.

After some trial and error, I came back to this one, and I am very glad that I did. I had first been introduced to Belleruth Naparstek when I was given a complimentary chemotherapy CD.  I listened to it religiously for 6 months while I underwent surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy for breast cancer. It helped me immensely in dealing with the discomfort of the procedures.

What I realized later was the tremendous benefit it offered me in my whole life: my marriage and other relationships, my understanding of the world and literature, my music and composition, and my self-esteem in general. In addition, I had a very positive outlook on healing and this, I believe, was beneficial to my recovery.

I became quite busy and assumed that my brief personal meditations were sufficient to take their place.  However, it occurred to me that the biggest growth period in my life occurred when I was using this method one to two times per day. This, I felt, was too significant to ignore, and ten years had already passed.

So, a little over a month ago I purchased Martha Howard's CD, Keys to Your Highest Potential, as I was at a crossroads in my personal life and career. In the last two weeks, good things have just started to happen to me.  People are responding to me and to my work considerably more positively, and doors seem to keep opening up, both in my personal and my professional world.

In regards to this specific CD, as opposed to the whole genre, I find Martha Howard's approach to be very soothing and relaxing, and very effective. I find it interesting that I've been doing this for over a month, and somehow I keep hearing things that I hadn't heard before. I would highly recommend this audio to anyone in any phase of life.

Sincerely,
Judy K., MD
