A Lot More Change Ahead for This Bunch!

05 Jan

Hello everyone, and happy new year!

I've been looking back at this past year at Health Journeys, and struck by how much hard work, change, newness, excitement and re-configuring has gone into it.

The staff has worked really hard to meet the challenges of the new initiatives, and they've really delivered the goods and then some – this in spite of a year's worth of unusual family health challenges, losses, accidents, electrical outages, server issues and a robust variety of an especially long-lived flu.

Here are some highlights:

In 2014 we increased our professional and clinical distributors by quite a lot.

We continue to expand our distribution of guided imagery and other mind-body techniques to our military and veterans.

We've redesigned our website and adapted it for smart phones.

We've merged our blogs – instead of a separate Health Journeys Blog and BR Blog, we now have one coherent place to go.

We've broadened our reach through iTunes, Amazon, Google and myriad new outlets.

We've published and distributed a hugely popular new self-improvement series of hypnosis/guided imagery programs by Traci Stein.

We're probably proudest of all of our stats for return customers, word-of-mouth sales and clinical referrals. That's not new but it's stronger than ever.

We're equally proud of the feedback we continue to get about how well people feel they were treated on the phone and by email, by our knowledgeable, responsive, compassionate staff.

Probably the bulk of our new focus – certainly Cindy's, George's and mine – has gone into finding and working with a team of experts in digital marketing to increase our internet presence and introduce guided imagery to new folks who've never heard of it and haven't a clue what it can do for them.

They've provided us with fresh eyes on web design, user-friendliness and expertise in search engine capability, ad words, landing page testing and loads of stuff like that. It's been a steep learning curve for all of us, but exciting and fun, too.

In the immediate future, you'll be seeing some more changes in our web pages as we move forward with the latest set of "user experience" recommendations.

As my old boss used to say, back in the day, when we were undergoing some organizational or departmental changes that made the rigid tremble and lovers of the status quo dig in their heels, "Well, you know how it is: Change or Die!"

So we're continuing to change. Stay tuned. 2015 is going to be quite a ride, and just splendid!

All best for a healthy, hearty, heartfelt and heartful new year,
