Our Hebrew CDs of Relaxation & Wellness are done, and they sound and look fantastic, I’m happy to say. This was not an easy project to complete, but we’re delighted with the results
Hello, everyone.

I’ve just been listening to Steve Kohn’s new music - he’s busy scoring our new imagery CD for panic attacks - and it’s absolutely gorgeous. I swear, all by itself, it could drive the fear from anyone’s heart.

The new Panic Attack imagery will be a little different from the usual. It will begin with several short segments of some simple self-regulation exercises first - on separate tracks for easy access or skipping over - and then move into the imagery and affirmations. This will allow people to pick and choose what works best for them. Of course, they’re all cumulative, so they run smoothly from one to the next as a complete listening experience that can be heard all the way through too.

We thought that offering a menu of brief, skill-building exercises first, for quick and easy use, might be a very good idea, since so many people suffering from panic attacks want something in their "back pocket" to fend off the panic monster when they’re out and about. I still have to go back and record the affirmations this week, and then it will be done or "in the can" as we so like to say in audio land.

I must tell you about a new book, Extraordinary Knowing: Science, Skepticism, and the Inexplicable Powers of the Human Mind by Elizabeth Lloyd Mayer. Anyone who enjoyed Your Sixth Sense is going to flip over this book, because, research-wise, it picks up where I left off (minus the imagery). The author, a wonderfully curious, intelligent psychoanalyst, weaves her own riveting, personal story throughout the book, making for a great read. Sadly, she died of a chronic illness shortly after the book was completed, to the great distress of all who knew and loved her. You can find it on Amazon.

Fania Chazen, the social worker who translated and narrated the imagery, and I will be offering guided imagery talks and training all over Israel the first week in May, to various Posttraumatic Stress organizations (NATAL, The Israel Trauma Coalition and the Center for the Treatment of Psychotrauma) as well as to various women’s health groups, under the auspices of the ISHA program. We’re pumped. We know how much these simple audios can help with stress and traumatic stress, and this population has had to live with a lot of it.

OK, that’s it for now. Take care and be well!
