Greetings!

I just heard some exciting news from Deborah Schwab at Blue Shield of California. There will be a PBS special, called The New Medicine, airing on March 29 at 9 PM EST, which will feature a segment on how Blue Shield uses guided imagery with its members who’ve been pre-approved for surgery. The taping follows a patient who uses our Successful Surgery imagery, (in this case, private labeled for BSca) and among other things, I believe it makes the point that Blue Shield saves $2000 per procedure by using this $17 CD. I’ll be reviewing the DVD shortly and will be able to say more about it after I see it.

What’s especially exciting about this TV program is that it focuses on mainstream healthcare institutions, and stays away from people and places already identified as on board or ‘alternative’. This makes the point about how accepted and available these programs have become to the average person.

The producer informs us:
  • We have prepared a number of "tools" for both the press and for educators. These can be found at - and downloaded from - the following website http://www.newmedicineinfo.org/.

  • In addition, we have prepared an electronic postcard announcing the airdate and website. Please send it out to friends, family, and anyone whom you think might be interested. If you have a PR office at your institution, they may want to do some publicity as well. The link to the e-postcard is http://kellysalerno.com/newmedicine/message.php?sample=1go.

  • In addition, we have created a 20-minute "clip reel" which people are using to have preview screening events prior to the airing of the program (to generate interest, etc). If you have any interest in having an "event" (from public screenings to small cocktail parties) and would like a DVD of the clip reel, please let me know.
So, for sure, the times, they are indeed a-changing.
More about this soon.

Take care and be well,
