Well, I finally stopped obsessing over my new guided imagery audio for obsessive-compulsive disorder and got the thing done. No kidding, this was a hard one to write. I’ll record it in a couple of weeks when our peripatetic studio engineer, Bruce Gigax, gets back from recording the Cleveland Orchestra in Florida, of all places.

The challenge was how to avoid the traps that could send OCD listeners into exactly the kind of obsessive loop that they’re trying to liberate themselves from. Pick a favorite place?? I don’t think so. Too many possibilities! In any case, I think I finally nailed it in a way that will work for people. So stay tuned and keep an eye out for that new title. It won’t be for a couple of months, still - it takes that long to get something like this produced.

We’ve also gotten such enthusiastic feedback from Steven Mark Kohn’s beautiful, calming music on the Panic Attack imagery that we had him rework it into an extended play recording of its own - 60 minutes of uninterrupted, exquisitely calming music for meditating or working by. This music creates a wonderful mood. I play it all the time, working by the fireplace. This will be released in a few weeks, and I personally will be very happy for the longer format and extended playing time.

Friday, February 1st is Go Red for Women Day, designed to raise everyone’s awareness of heart health for women, and call attention to all the behavioral changes that can be made to prevent high blood pressure and heart disease. (And along those lines, do check out this week’s Hot Research page, in case you think I’m just talking through my hat....).

So, in honor of Go Red day, we’ve put together a special sale pack of stellar CDs that bring together a wickedly effective combo of guided imagery, hypnosis, affirmations and meditation to help defeat high blood pressure, heart disease, excessive weight and stress.

Our HJ Healthy Heart CD provides guided imagery for opening your arteries and your heart, both physically and emotionally, while Emmett Miller’s hypnotic Down with High Blood Pressure helps you identify and reverse your triggers for elevated blood pressure. David Illig’s Weight Loss & Self-Improvement uses affirmations to shift attitudes and feelings about healthy eating; and Gael Chiarella’s AM Yoga Meditations help you start each day with peace and calm. Normally this set would retail for $66.91, but the sale price is now $46.95 - a nice, whopping $20 off.

OK, take care and be well!
