Hello, everyone.
Ah, it’s good to be back on Martha’s Vineyard where the sound, smell, sight and feel of the ocean heals whatever ails you. It seems to take about three days to get back to sleeping like a baby and having the stresses, strains and lunacies of landlocked life drain out of you. I wish the ocean on everyone! (Planting orange and purple flowers and digging in the dirt is none too shabby, either. And nuzzling a delicious 7-month old - well, that’s a whole ‘nother story.)

I haven’t yet gone searching for my favorite nesting swan (the totem and inspiration for our Pregnancy and Childbirth audio program, and the Help with Infertility audio set, but I’ve seen evidence of her paramour from a distance, closely guarding a certain chunk of reeded shoreline. I’ll check it out with my trusty binoculars on my next walk. (Yes, I am now fully inhabiting my dotty old bird lady persona. It was inevitable. There is no turning back now.)

Wow. Our enews’ "Help Wanted" ad yielded hundreds of awesome resume’s, which our intrepid CEO, Dan, is sorting through now. We are very stoked about this e-method of finding new staff. The ad, for those of you who missed it, read something like this:

As you probably already know, Health Journeys has an unusual track record for getting guided imagery into mainstream institutions - hospitals, mental health centers, insurance companies, EAPs, HMO’s, professional associations, client advocacy organizations, prisons and health spas. We’ve also managed to get over a half-dozen pharmaceutical companies to give away hundreds of thousands of our audios free, as a premium, to providers and patients. And we want to do more.

So we’re looking for people with a background in either health, social work, psychology, nursing or wellness, with a talent for sales, creative marketing and program development. We’re looking for a certain entrepreneurial pizzazz, and an understanding of what we’re about, what guided imagery can do for people. We want people who have a desire to make a difference and do some good, who can get their drive behind the dual mission of this company - doing well while doing good (that means helping people while NOT going broke).

So if you’re sick of the constraints inherent in working in a large organization or corporation and want some free reign to deploy your knack for creative collaboration and inspired partnerships with other professionals and institutions, please email us your resume at This email address is being protected from spambots. Okay, back to researching Parkinson’s Disease for our next audio title. And finding the swan, of course.

Take care and be well,
