Hello again!

It amuses our HJ team that, of the list of terrific, new titles that we’ve added to our catalog, the bodacious Sleep Fairy wins hands down as our most popular new CD. It’s even more sought after than Kelly Howell’s Brain Sync Stress CD (although that’s hugely popular too), Jon Kabat Zinn’s new Mindfulness Meditation (also huge), and the beloved Andy Weil’s Mind-Body Toolkit (ditto). David Illig’s new work has also gotten a lot of response, as well it should, and the fetching Hemalayaa’s fantastic Bollywood Workout has always been a huge hit, and remains so. But the Sleep Fairy is far and away this week’s favorite.

So I guess there are a lot of kids having trouble falling asleep, and Ms. Sleep Fairy gets the job done, plain and simple. I discovered this superb little audio by Lisa Malkiewicz when my awesome niece recommended it as the only foolproof intervention for her insomniac 5-yr-old daughter. (I rely heavily on this young mother’s judgment, and have even been known to make an emergency call to her amidst the overwhelming inventory at some big box kiddy furniture & toy store, when searching for an item for the grandkids. She never lets me down. Turns out she was right about the Sleep Fairy too.

I simply must tell you about a couple of superb personal growth retreats for women, set for 2008, led by two fantastic social workers, Ceci McDonnell and Karen Rosenberg, (plus Lisa Hernandez providing some very fine yoga instruction) - one in the Costa Rican Rain Forest and one on Isla Mujeres off the coast of Mexico (Cancun side). These week-long, small group experiences promote personal growth, creativity, insight, self-expression, perspective and joy like little else - I get rave reports every year from delighted, transformed participants.

Returning to Our Senses: A Women’s Circle in the Rainforest will be from February 9-16 in Samasati, Costa Rica; and Portals to the Self: A Women’s Circle by the Sea happens from March 29 - April 5 in Isla Mujeres. So if you’re looking for a powerful positive experience, pick the rain forest or the beach, and go for it!

OK, that’s all for now. Take care & be well,
