All you oncology professionals listen up! We need you to start hounding, cajoling and pleading with your Roche and Glaxo reps about how much you appreciate getting those custom-labeled guided imagery freebies for your patients..
Hello again. It may be time for all you oncology professionals to start hounding, cajoling and pleading with your Roche and Glaxo reps out there, about how much you appreciate getting those custom-labeled guided imagery freebies for your patients, and how you hope and pray they will remain in the pipeline.

Glaxo has been giving away our chemo and/or radiation guided imagery since way back in 1993 (when they were Smithkline Beacham), I believe, resulting in the largest free mass distribution of our stuff ever. We’re guessing that Glaxo alone has gotten our audios into the ears of at least 450,000 cancer patients (that’s 900,000 ears!). Roche has also followed suit in great style, and has been ordering for years now as well.

What keeps this freebie viable is when these companies hear from grateful oncology docs, nurses, social workers and chaplains, expressing appreciation for their sensitivity to their patients and their holistic vision of health care, by offering such an unusual item - something that actually helps the patient! Every now and then we worry that they’ll go back to giving out mousepads and pens. That’s where you come in! Please talk to a sales rep!

We just finished recording Carol Ginandes’ new hypnosis audio for Allergies, and we’re pumped about it. It’s a really good one. As you probably already know, allergies are especially prone to influence via hypnosis and guided imagery. Skin eruptions, food reactions and sniffling/sneezing/wheezing responses can be modulated or contained to some extent or other through mind-body methods. And Carol offers a whole terrific menu of techniques to impact this. At the very least it should allow a lot of people to use less medication for their symptoms. So stay tuned.

I’m looking forward to seeing many of you in Rochester Minnesota (home of the legendary Mayo Clinic) at the end of the month, for my new weekend, 9-CEU workshop on using guided imagery and allied techniques for panic attacks, acute anxiety states and PTSD.
