Upcoming Conferences & Training Opportunities

21 Aug

I must remember to tell you about some important upcoming conferences and training opportunities.

The 3rd annual Imagery International's Conference: "Hope and New Beginnings" is held at the Mercy Retreat Center in Burlingame, California, from Sept 30-Oct 2 (early bird deadline is Aug 25).  Details are at www.imageryinternational.org. Conference chair Jann Fredrickson Ramus tells me that this content-rich, highly convivial conference was sold out last year, so you may want to check this out soon.  This is the only conference I know of that focuses specifically on the practice of guided imagery.

For some great hands-on, small group-based training in Mind-Body Medicine on the Right Coast, Jim Gordon’s Initial Professional Training Program begins again from October 1-5 at the Hyatt Crystal City in the Washington DC area. This is the Center’s core program, taught and refined since 1994, focusing on the practical, clinical uses of meditation, guided imagery, biofeedback, breathwork and the arts for insight and self-expression.

The 13th Annual Canadian Energy Psychology ConferenceThe Conference for Integrative and Energy Therapies: From Healing to Wholeness - will be held in Toronto from October 20-24, 2011, featuring the likes of Lynne McTaggart, Mary Sise and Daniel Benor.  Full details are available at http://www.epccanada.ca/

This is the final year for NICABM’s legendary Psychology of Health, Immunity, and Disease Conference, taking place December 5th - 11th at Hilton Head Island, SC.  I’m sad to see this extraordinary annual gathering end – for over 20 years it’s brought together some of the most cutting edge, exciting thinking in the mind-body and behavioral medicine arena.  But it will go out with a bang, pulling in a spectacular lineup of speakers and the latest info in neurobiology, digestive issues, energy psychology, trauma treatment, mindfulness applications and much more.  Ruth says that for this final extravaganza, registrations are running an insane 560% ahead of last year. OK, that’s it for now.  Have a great week.
